My machine wouldn't shut down until I manually closed the Intel Driver Update program as there was a secondary dialog box open. It will ask for a restart afterwards, say No and close all programs before restarting (not Shut Down).

Let it check and update all drivers (I believe the Intel ProSet driver may be what causes the fault but I also had Bluetooth drivers to update)Ĥ.

Download and install the Intel Driver Update program from the Intel website.ģ. This fixed it for me but what may also have helped is that I ran Ccleaner beforehand to clean the registry up and also made sure there were no issues in Device Manager:ġ. I'd searched the web for a fix but couldn't find one so I applied a few different methods from multiple sources. As a result of this bizarre labeling, I have Office 365 Home legally licensed on nine devices (there are four other "real" desktop PCs).I was having this same issue until today after applying the anniversary update.
The only thing I can think of, is the Lenovo stick's CPU. My Microsoft account labels the Intel Stick as a PC, and the Lenovo Sticks, the Dell i3050, and the Surface 3 as tablets. The Dell i3050 is more powerful than the others. The Lenovo Stick cannot run Win 10 圆4 (the instruction set doesn't support it), but the other devices can and do. Other than the BIOS in the stick computers, here's not much difference between them. I have one Intel STK1AW32SC Compute Stick, two Lenovo 300 Sticks, one Dell Inspiron 3050 "micro-desktop", and one Microsoft Surface 3. recognizes the stick as a desktop is kind of weird, however it might be expected because is not a mobile device itself, you need a monitor and a power outlet to use it, so, even though you can take it anywhere, still you need those components to use it, so probably that is the reason why it is recognize as desktop PC. Which is kinda weird, if you think about it - the stick is not really a desktop, tho ofc Win sees at as one. However, my understanding is that "Find my device" only works for laptops, tablets and mobiles. And they want to help me by remotely logging in to the stick and do something, but remote assistance is only available for some money, so they asked me to buy support subscription ) I've politely declined. Well, I've already had about 3hrs of chat with Microsoft support. that's another question, tho I don't care. And that the functionality was added in the Anniversary Update. Now I'm certain that it is MiraCast which Windows is using for "Project to". WiDi was mentioned becauses I was not quite sure what technology Windows "Project to" uses.Īnd when I had online chat with Intel support the guy said that Compute Stick does not support WiDi at hardware level and that's why Windows "Project to" is not available on my device.
